TOPIC: Production final steps

Re:Production final steps 4 Years, 6 Months ago
Peculiar, I can see them on my screen...I've been uploading images to Photobucket as, I'm embarrassed to admit, still haven't been able to create a gallery here. I uploaded the pics to the 'Images' Gallery though so here is what I was talking about;

Thanks for uploading the images! I created a Gallery for you (don't mind, there should be a bug in this version:angry: ) and moved there your pics.

I see what you mean: indeed I was in doubt formerly on where put the flags. Finally I decided for the current place because you can obtain a better squared angles of the module. The procedure is to glue step by step the single left and right flaps, wrapping the body of the module around the two caps.

Anyway, have you decided what is it better for you?

Nice Squad you put together! I have a question: the Barricades seem to be smaller than I thought. Did you print resizing them? Are the Barricades 4" wide?

Let me know, Cla

I don't think I resized them, I'll have to check when I get home. They might look smaller because One-Monk's miniatures are kinda herkin' Heroically proportioned, they are (the barricades) the right height for fortifications though.

I guess I did resize the printouts, I'd forgotten that the first time I went to print them out the pages were too big for the paper and overlapped all over the place. So I selected 'Fit to Paper' and printed the rest. This makes the wall sections 3.5 inches long, so my printout was at 87.5% scale.

I just opened the first page (Straight modules) and Photoshop says that the page is 8.263x11.693 inches (209.89x297.01mm), a bit too large for my printer.

Yes Eric, that's the standard A4 size. I believe you are printing on Letter size.

If you don't let the printer resize, the global format is out of the limits but the design itself is still inside your useful sheet. The printer simply wont print the white border that isn't included.

In conclusion, just print the sheet how it is without fitting.

Let me know if it works.

Hmm, not quite, it still cuts off the bottom edge which means part of the end cap piece is gone. I believe I need to find the toggle for borderless printing
to really get it.

Still working on building my gate though.

Yes, I understand it. Many printers need a bottom margin to maintain the sheet in place while printing. A last chance, if your printer doesn't manage the margin-less, is to import the pdf in a image editor (300dpi), copy and paste the image into the regular printed size.

What is exactly your printable space?

Personally I would stick to 8 inch by 11 inch, that should fit both A4 and US papers

Yes, indeed the drawing are inside a virtual box of 8"x11", even if the pdf size is A4.

I will master again the pdfs forcing the whole file within the drawing size.

There is a brief but positive review of the barricades set in the current issue of Fictional Reality;

Yeah!

Comments are brief, but they nearly dedicated a whole page to Barricades, inserting three images.

it was too late to include also Platforms, but it will be for the next issue.
